James Harding and Max Evans founded Divine Doors with a shared vision: to unite art and function through exceptional craftsmanship. Every door we create is guided by a deep respect for materials, a commitment to precision, and an eye for timeless beauty.

At the heart of our work is a reverence for the trees that make it possible. We aim to reveal their inner character—grain, texture, strength, and spirit—so that each door becomes a lasting expression of nature’s artistry. By transforming raw wood into functional pieces of art, we allow the life of the tree to continue, becoming part of the daily rhythm of the spaces we inhabit.

Based in Port Townsend, Washington, we collaborate with local mills and responsible foresters to source our materials sustainably. Our goal is not only to create doors of enduring quality, but also to honor the forests they come from—bringing their strength, balance, and quiet harmony into the homes and workplaces of those we serve.
